Strategy audit was useful

I used Free Range for a strategy audit. I appreciated the free discovery session before committing. The audit itself gave us some clear, actionable insights for our non-profit, which was really helpful. Given their non-profit pricing, I felt it was a good investment for our budget. Definitely worth the purchase.

Good strategy, slow communication

We engaged Free Range for a brand strategy project. The output was solid and gave us a clear direction. What impressed me most was their deep understanding of purpose-driven branding. However, communication felt a bit slow at times; I often had to follow up to get updates. It wasn't a dealbreaker, but definitely an area for improvement. Overall, good value for what we paid.

Consistent results, reliable partner

This was our third project with Free Range, this time for some digital transformation consulting. They consistently deliver high-quality work. Compared to our last creative storytelling project, the team felt even more aligned with our internal goals. Their understanding of our mission is why we keep coming back. It's reassuring to have such a reliable partner, and their approach to innovation always feels fresh. Just wish they'd offer a bit more flexibility on project timelines sometimes, but the output is always worth it.

Detailed branding project

We hired Free Range for a comprehensive brand identity design and visual storytelling project. The initial consultation was thorough, really digging into our values and long-term vision. The ordering process was straightforward, with a clear proposal outlining deliverables and timelines. During the project, they provided regular updates, which I appreciated. The final brand guidelines were incredibly detailed and well-executed, providing everything we needed to launch. Their team was responsive to feedback and incorporated our suggestions effectively. The quality of the design work was top-notch, and it felt like they genuinely understood our brand's essence. Delivery of the final assets was prompt, right on schedule. Overall, a very positive experience, making our brand launch much smoother.

how do they even start a new project? like, what's the first step after talking to them?

D Donna M. 1 day ago
After the initial chat, they usually do a more in-depth discovery phase to really understand your needs. Then they put together a detailed proposal with scope and timeline. It's a pretty structured process.

i'm comparing free range with frog design or ideo, how do they stack up? similar services or different vibe?

S Steven K. 1 month ago
They're definitely in that same league, but I'd say Free Range has a stronger emphasis on purpose and social impact. If that's super important to your organization, they might be a better fit than some of the others that are more purely design-focused.

Similar services in terms of innovation and strategy, but Free Range felt a bit more tailored and less 'big corporate' to me than IDEO. Their storytelling aspect is really strong too.

i'm in europe, do free range work with international clients at all or just usa based?

P Paul Brown 1 week ago
They do! We're based in Berlin and they've been great to work with remotely. No issues with time zones or anything, they're pretty good about scheduling.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure they work internationally. Saw something on their site about it, or maybe a case study for a non-US client.

what's the deal with discounts here? i'm looking to do a few projects with them over time, maybe a retainer. any way to get a better rate?

K Katie Mitchell 2 weeks ago
They definitely offer better rates for long-term stuff or if you bundle projects. It's not like a promo code you type in, you just negotiate it as part of your overall agreement. We got a good deal doing a year-long retainer.

Yeah, if you're looking at a bigger commitment, they're usually open to discussing volume or retainer discounts. It's all custom.

anyone used their referral program? thinking of sending a client their way, curious if it's worth it.

L Linda Phillips 1 week ago
I referred a friend's startup to them a while back. There is a program, but you'd need to ask them directly about the specifics. It's not like a cash bonus for you, more like a credit or something if the project happens, I think.

Never personally used it but my old boss mentioned they got a little something from a referral. Definitely ask about it when you're in touch.
